PRG Pakistan is looking to hire a suitable candidate for the vacant position of Assistant Medical Coder, for our office in Gujranwala. The ideal individual would be a great team player, with an eye for detail in the documentation and all related tasks. This is an entry-level position, open for the residents of Gujranwala only. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient medical records and documentation to assign appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, DRG, APC, etc.)
- Translate healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into standardized coding for billing and recordkeeping
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of coded data with federal regulations and insurance requirements
- Perform chart audits to identify documentation gaps, coding errors, or discrepancies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to clarify diagnoses and obtain additional documentation as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory changes (CMS, HIPAA, etc.)
Requirements:
- MBBS freshers
- Performing chart audits
- Ability to identify documentation gaps and ensure accuracy
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and training skills
- Ability to ensure coding compliance and support the audit
